Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to visit New Delhi on Wednesday night, departing around 9 pm after hosting a dinner for the Sixteenth Finance Commission, a government source confirmed.
The visit follows Naidu’s detailed presentation to the commission earlier today, where he outlined the TDP-led NDA government’s ambitious plans for the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, including a video showcasing its seven sub-cities and a photo exhibition on key projects like Polavaram.
While the duration of Naidu’s Delhi trip remains undisclosed, it comes amid efforts to secure central support for Amaravati’s revival. The state aims to develop a ‘mega city’ by integrating Amaravati with Mangalagiri, Tadepalli, Guntur, and Vijayawada, incorporating an international airport.

Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana announced plans to acquire 30,000 additional acres through land pooling, building on the existing 34,241 acres from 29,881 farmers. With Rs 37,702 crore in projects underway and Rs 15,000 crore committed from the Centre and global lenders, Naidu targets completion by 2028, despite Rs 7,000 crore in cost escalations from past delays.
Naidu’s Delhi engagements may focus on funding and policy backing for this vision, reinforcing Andhra’s push to position Amaravati as a global economic hub while navigating political and fiscal challenges.
