The Indian government is actively monitoring and documenting incidents of violence against minorities in Bangladesh, including attacks on individuals, their homes, businesses, and places of worship, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh informed the Rajya Sabha on Thursday.
Responding to a parliamentary query about attacks on the Hindu community in Bangladesh, Singh emphasized that India has consistently raised concerns about the safety and security of minorities with Bangladeshi authorities at the highest levels. He urged the interim government of Bangladesh to thoroughly investigate these incidents and ensure justice for perpetrators of killings, arson, and violence against minorities.
"The Government of India continuously monitors and maintains a record of such attacks," Singh stated, highlighting India’s proactive stance on the issue. He stressed that the primary responsibility for protecting the life and liberty of all Bangladeshi citizens, including minorities, lies with the Bangladesh government.
