Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced Lok Sabha that over 55,000 pension-related grievances were resolved via the Centralised Pension Grievances Redress and Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS) portal from January 1 to July 15, 2025. The Ministry of Defence, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Railways recorded the highest number of complaints.
Out of 63,310 grievances received, 55,554 were addressed, with the average resolution time dropping from 35 days in January to 20 days by July, showcasing improved efficiency. A policy circular issued on October 16, 2024, mandates ministries to resolve pension issues within 21 days.
Singh highlighted ongoing efforts, including thematic adalats, monthly inter-ministerial reviews, capacity-building programs for grievance officers, and an annual special campaign to ensure effective redressal. These measures underscore the government’s commitment to streamlining pension grievance resolution for retirees.
