In a landmark initiative to transform Maharashtra’s education sector, the Government of Maharashtra and The Art of Living Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to revamp 150 government-aided schools across 10 districts. The agreement, formalized in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and SSRDP Chairman Prasana Prabhu, aims to create aspirational learning environments fostering academic and holistic development.
The partnership will introduce digital smart classrooms, STEM and science labs, and solar-powered facilities, alongside renovated classrooms, libraries, and sanitation units. Teachers will receive training in modern pedagogy, while students will benefit from yoga, meditation, and creative programs to enhance emotional resilience and innovation. “We are committed to nurturing academic excellence and emotional intelligence,” Fadnavis stated, emphasizing the state’s vision for transformative education.
Prabhu highlighted the initiative’s alignment with Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s philosophy, saying, “We aim to reimagine these schools as vibrant centers of empowerment.” The three-year phased implementation will involve tailored interventions based on baseline assessments, supported by CSR and philanthropic contributions.
