Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared a resolute stance against terrorism, emphasizing that peace in the Union Territory will be achieved not by appeasement but by dismantling the entire terror ecosystem.
Speaking at an event in Srinagar, Sinha stressed, “Peace will not be bought; it will be established by destroying the entire terror machinery.” He underscored the pivotal role of the J&K Police in targeting the financial, logistical, and other support systems that sustain terrorism, ensuring that while no innocent will be harmed, the guilty will face justice.
Sinha highlighted the transformation of “Naya Jammu and Kashmir,” where youth now wield pens and laptops instead of stones, and schools and colleges operate without disruptions from hartals. He noted the shift from separatist slogans to vibrant cultural and religious events like Muharram processions and Eid Melas, with families enjoying newfound freedom and safety.

The L-G also criticized past practices where terror-linked individuals were rewarded with government jobs while victims were neglected, affirming that the current administration is committed to delivering justice and restoring properties usurped from terror victims by August 2025.
Calling for public unity with security forces, Sinha described peace as the presence of justice, opportunity, and hope, pledging to make it a permanent reality. This statement comes amid ongoing efforts to curb terrorism, with Sinha recently asserting that peace in the Jammu region, recently hit by terror attacks, will be fully restored within six months.
The L-G’s remarks reflect a broader commitment to uprooting terrorism, as echoed in his earlier statements condemning the April 2025 Pahalgam attack, which killed 26 civilians, and vowing to hunt down perpetrators and their supporters.
