Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared a bold new stance against terrorism, emphasizing that both terrorists and their sponsors will face equal punishment. Speaking at a gathering of terror victims in Srinagar, Sinha asserted, “India has made it clear that if terror is state policy, it will be met with a visible and forceful response.”
Sinha’s remarks come as part of a broader initiative under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to dismantle the terror ecosystem in J&K. He handed over job appointment letters to 158 next of kin (NoKs) of Kashmiri civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists, marking a significant step toward justice. “Wounds that have persisted for decades are now being healed. Today’s landmark event provided a sense of closure to families who have silently suffered trauma for years,” Sinha posted on X.
The LG highlighted the long-standing pain caused by Pakistan’s proxy terrorist outfits, noting, “For more than three decades, the terror state Pakistan has been shedding innocent blood. Time did not erase the pain of loss.” He paid tribute to civilian martyrs and saluted the resilience of their families, who have begun exposing the roles of Pakistan-sponsored terrorists and their sympathizers.

Sinha’s administration has taken decisive actions, including the dismissal of over 70 government employees with terror links since 2022, such as a police constable, teacher, and forest department orderly in February 2025, under Article 311(2)(c). He emphasized a multi-pronged approach, integrating AI-driven intelligence and community vigilance to eradicate terrorism. “We will do everything possible for the rehabilitation of terror victims. Perpetrators and their sympathizers will face the harshest punishment,” he vowed.
This event follows similar initiatives, including job distributions to 80 NoKs in Jammu on July 28 and 40 in Baramulla, reflecting a commitment to justice post-Article 370 abrogation. A new web portal and helplines streamline relief efforts, ensuring no genuine case is overlooked.
