Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the ‘Run for Unity’ was not merely a test of speed or endurance but a reflection of collective resolve and faith. He made the remarks while attending the closing ceremony of the Kashmir Marathon - Run for Unity in Srinagar. Sinha commended the enthusiasm and energy of the youth who participated in the event and congratulated the runners for their efforts.
The Lieutenant Governor also praised the Jammu and Kashmir Police for organising the marathon, describing the event as a symbol of peace, unity and progress in the Union Territory. He stressed that the significance of the race extended beyond sporting achievement, saying that collective determination could help people overcome challenges. According to Sinha, when people move forward together, no destination remains beyond reach.
Highlighting India's diversity, Sinha said differences in language, traditions, food and attire form part of the country's identity, while the people remain united by a common national spirit. He said unity was a source of strength and that the participation of thousands of runners conveyed a message that no goal was too distant when pursued collectively. He added that the event represented a shared commitment towards a better future for the younger generation of Jammu and Kashmir.

He emphasised the idea of a shared national identity and said that differences in individual paths and pace should not undermine a common destination. He linked this collective resolve with the broader vision of a developed India by 2047.
