Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma chaired meetings with stakeholders on Tuesday to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's anticipated two-day visit to the state starting September 13, emphasising that Assam is fully prepared to offer a warm reception.
The visit will feature events marking the birth centenary of Bharat Ratna recipient Dr Bhupen Hazarika, a renowned Assamese musician and cultural icon, where Modi is expected to release a Rs 100 commemorative coin in his honour.
On September 14, Modi is likely to travel to Mangaldoi in Darrang district to inaugurate the Guwahati Ring Road and a bridge over the Brahmaputra River, connecting Kuruwa and Narengi in Guwahati, and lay the foundation stone for the Mangaldoi Medical College Hospital.

Following these, the Prime Minister is expected to visit Golaghat district to dedicate the Numaligarh Refinery Limited's bio-ethanol plant, built at a cost of Rs 4,200 crore, highlighting ongoing infrastructure and cultural developments in Assam.
