Delhi Traffic Police have issued an advisory asking commuters to plan their journeys in advance and avoid areas around Jantar Mantar as restrictions and traffic diversions are expected during a protest called by the AAP, Youth Congress, RJD and student unions. The protestors are seeking the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls and allegations of mass deletion of voters.
According to the advisory, traffic movement in several parts of Central Delhi will be regulated or diverted. Vehicles travelling from Connaught Place towards Patel Chowk may be diverted along alternate routes, while traffic moving from Patel Chowk towards the GPO will be regulated or diverted at suitable points depending on the situation. Authorities have also warned commuters to expect delays on roads surrounding the protest location.
Traffic movement on Tolstoy Marg will also be regulated or diverted, while Jantar Mantar Road will face restrictions or diversions. Commuters have been advised to avoid Jantar Mantar, Parliament Street, Ashoka Road and adjoining roads wherever possible and use alternative routes. Motorists travelling towards Connaught Place, Patel Chowk, the GPO, Parliament Street and other parts of Central Delhi have been asked to leave additional time for their journeys.

The traffic advisory also warned that barricading and diversions could be introduced as required, potentially increasing travel time on surrounding roads. Authorities have prohibited stopping or parking vehicles on or near regulated stretches, saying parked vehicles could further disrupt traffic movement. Commuters have been asked to follow instructions from traffic personnel and other officials deployed in the area.
The planned protest has been organised by opposition parties and student groups seeking action over the electoral-roll revision exercise. The groups have raised concerns about voter deletions and are demanding that Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resign. The protest comes amid an ongoing political dispute over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, with the organisers using the demonstration to press their demands.
Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita will remain in force in the specified area under orders of the competent authority, according to the traffic advisory. Delhi Police and traffic personnel are expected to regulate movement and implement diversions depending on crowd and security conditions. Commuters travelling through Central Delhi have therefore been advised to check their routes in advance, avoid restricted stretches where possible and follow directions issued on the ground.
