A man travelling from Varanasi to Dubai missed his scheduled flight after falling asleep in the airport parking area while intoxicated, despite reaching Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport several hours before departure. Bhushan Kumar, a resident of Gorakhpur, was scheduled to travel on an Air India Express flight that was due to depart at 9.05 pm. He reached the airport at around 5.30 pm but did not proceed with his travel formalities and instead went to the parking area.
Bhushan reportedly fell asleep in the parking lot after arriving at the airport. He remained there for a prolonged period, apparently unaware that the departure time of his flight was approaching. The situation came to the attention of security personnel who were on duty at the airport. They noticed Bhushan lying in the parking area and approached him to check on his condition.
After finding him in an intoxicated state, the security personnel informed the police about the situation. Police officials subsequently reached the airport to check on Bhushan and take him into their care. However, by the time they arrived, the Air India Express flight scheduled for Dubai had already departed or its scheduled departure time had passed, leaving Bhushan unable to board the aircraft.

Police then took Bhushan for a medical examination at a primary health centre. No family member was present with him at the airport at the time. The police contacted his family in Gorakhpur and informed them about the incident, ensuring that his relatives were aware of his situation after he missed the international flight.
Bhushan's planned journey to Dubai was consequently postponed. The incident occurred despite him arriving at the airport around three and a half hours before the scheduled departure time, which would ordinarily have provided considerable time to complete the required procedures before boarding. Instead, his decision to remain in the parking area and subsequent sleep resulted in him missing the flight.
The incident highlights the unusual circumstances behind Bhushan's missed journey, with security personnel ultimately discovering him asleep in the airport parking lot and alerting the authorities. Police intervention followed, along with a medical examination and communication with his family. His Dubai travel plans were put on hold after he failed to reach the boarding area before the flight's scheduled departure.
