On the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, West Bengal Governor C V Ananda Bose and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended heartfelt greetings to the people of the state on Saturday, August 16, 2025. The festival, celebrated with traditional fervor across India, saw both leaders emphasize the spiritual and moral significance of the day.
In an official statement from Raj Bhavan, Governor Bose expressed his hope that Lord Krishna’s teachings would guide the people toward righteousness. “May Lord Krishna’s divine love and wisdom illuminate our path. May His divine teachings endow us with courage to tread the right path of dharma, karma, justice, and equity,” he said.
Chief Minister Banerjee, in a post on X, shared her warm sentiments, stating, “I extend heartfelt greetings to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.” The messages reflect the shared commitment of Bengal’s leadership to celebrate the festival’s values of compassion and wisdom, uniting communities in festive joy.
