An 18-year-old man has been sentenced to three years in prison for threatening a fast-food worker with a fake gun during a violent confrontation over a food order dispute. The incident, which took place in the Penge area of south London on Christmas Eve last year, has drawn attention to the dangers posed by imitation firearms and the psychological impact such threats can have on victims.
The accused, identified in reports as Marwan Khadir, had initially visited a local chicken shop to collect his takeaway order. Upon returning home, he discovered that the sauces provided did not match his request. Angered by the mistake, he went back to the outlet and confronted the employee, questioning the incorrect order and demanding an explanation.
According to authorities, the situation quickly escalated into violence as Khadir physically assaulted the worker during the argument. The confrontation intensified when he pulled out a highly realistic imitation firearm and began threatening the staff member, shouting that he would kill them. The threatening exchange reportedly lasted for more than two minutes, causing fear and panic at the scene.

Despite the weapon later being confirmed as fake, police treated the incident as extremely serious due to the realistic nature of the firearm and the level of intimidation involved. The victim was subjected to repeated threats of being shot, highlighting the severe psychological distress caused during the ordeal. Experts have emphasized that imitation weapons can provoke dangerous situations and should not be taken lightly.
Khadir was arrested on January 2 following an investigation and was subsequently charged in connection with the attack. The case was heard at Woolwich Crown Court, where the court considered the gravity of the offence and the impact on the victim before delivering its verdict.
Sentencing the accused to three years in prison, officials also commended the victim for their courage in reporting the crime and assisting the investigation. Detective Sergeant Amy Cross stated that no individual should face such threats in their workplace and praised the victim’s resilience, adding that their identification of the आरोपी played a crucial role in ensuring justice was served.
