An Indian national has died in Riyadh following recent developments linked to the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed on Friday. The embassy expressed its condolences, stating that the death occurred in connection with the “recent events of March 18", though specific details surrounding the incident have not been disclosed.
In an official statement shared on social media, the embassy conveyed its “deepest condolences” to the family of the deceased and assured that it is actively coordinating with local authorities. Officials added that they are also in direct contact with the victim’s family and remain committed to providing all possible assistance during this difficult time.
The incident comes amid rising tensions in West Asia, where the ongoing conflict has led to heightened security concerns across several countries in the region. A day prior to confirming the death, the embassy had issued an advisory after alerts were received in Riyadh and nearby areas, urging Indian residents to remain calm and vigilant.

According to reports, the number of Indian nationals who have lost their lives in the Gulf region amid the conflict has risen to six. The situation has prompted increased monitoring by Indian authorities, with efforts underway to ensure the safety and evacuation of citizens where necessary.
The Ministry of External Affairs has also provided updates on travel and evacuation arrangements, stating that conditions in parts of West Asia are gradually improving. Authorities are coordinating with airlines to facilitate the movement of stranded passengers, with additional flights being arranged to manage the situation.
Since February 28, approximately 300,000 passengers have reportedly returned to India from the region. While limited flight operations continue from countries like the United Arab Emirates, airspace in Kuwait and Bahrain remains closed. Airlines, including Qatar Airways and Jazeera Airways, are expected to operate special flights, including services from Saudi Arabia to Indian cities such as Kochi, as part of ongoing evacuation and travel support efforts.
