The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has seized multiple luxury cars linked to popular social media influencer and YouTuber Anurag Dwivedi as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal online betting and gambling activities. The action follows a series of raids conducted at nine locations across Delhi, Mumbai, Surat, Lucknow, and Varanasi on December 31, 2025, and January 1, 2026. The searches were carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, targeting suspected networks involved in generating and laundering proceeds of crime through illicit betting platforms.
According to the ED, the premises raided are directly connected to Anurag Dwivedi, a prominent figure known for his content on astrology, spirituality, and lifestyle topics on YouTube and other social media platforms. Investigators allege that several online gaming and betting applications associated with the influencer and his network facilitated large-scale illegal betting operations. During the operations, authorities recovered incriminating documents, digital devices, and other evidence believed to substantiate claims of money laundering and proceeds derived from these prohibited activities. The luxury vehicles seized are said to have been acquired using funds generated through these alleged illicit operations.
The case highlights the growing scrutiny on social media influencers and digital personalities who have been linked to online betting syndicates in recent years. With the rapid expansion of mobile gaming and fantasy sports apps in India, enforcement agencies have intensified efforts to curb illegal gambling, which remains banned in most states under strict gaming laws. The involvement of high-profile figures like Dwivedi has amplified public interest, as authorities aim to dismantle the financial networks supporting such platforms and recover laundered assets.
