A Delhi Police sub-inspector met a tragic end in the early hours of Friday when an unidentified vehicle struck him during a routine patrol in the Kalyanpuri area, police officials confirmed. The officer, identified as Yashpal, was posted at Pandav Nagar police station and was patrolling the NH-24 and NH-9 highways when the fatal accident occurred.
Yashpal, a resident of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, leaves behind his 28-year-old son, Tarun Pawadia, who is pursuing studies and preparing for a government job. According to a senior police officer, the incident took place around 2:30 a.m. as Yashpal was navigating a U-turn near the DCP office cut on NH-9 toward Ghazipur. “An unknown vehicle hit him, and despite being rushed to Max Vaishali hospital, he was declared dead by doctors,” the officer stated.
The Delhi Police have launched a manhunt to track down the driver responsible for the hit-and-run. As the investigation intensifies, the loss of Sub-Inspector Yashpal has sent shockwaves through the force, raising questions about road safety for officers on duty.
