At least five students were injured after a speeding school bus rammed into an electricity pole in the Hadapsar area of Pune, police said. The incident occurred near the Mhasoba temple in Kalepadal on Thursday afternoon, raising concerns over road safety involving school transport vehicles.
According to officials, the bus was carrying students of New English School, Sadhana Shaikshanik Sankul, Malwadi, at the time of the accident. The vehicle was travelling from the Fursungi area towards Kalepadal when it lost control and crashed into the pole at around 1 pm.
Police have booked the driver, Amol Borate, on charges of rash and negligent driving under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act. The First Information Report (FIR) was registered at the Kalepadal police station following the incident.

Authorities said the injured students received medical attention, though the extent of their injuries has not been detailed. The case is currently under investigation, with officials examining the circumstances that led to the accident, including possible overspeeding and driver negligence.
