Shilpi, a nurse at the Community Health Centre in Potka block, was found dead in their home in the Nano Tola area, with injuries indicating she was strangled and struck on the head with a heavy object. Saheb’s mutilated body was later discovered near the Nandup railway track, roughly 5 km away, where he reportedly ended his life. Police recovered a suicide note and a WhatsApp message from Saheb’s phone, in which he confessed to killing Shilpi over her alleged extramarital affair and declared his intent to die by suicide.
According to Avinash Kumar, Officer-in-Charge of Parsudih police station, the couple’s dispute escalated on Wednesday night after Saheb accused Shilpi of communicating with another man. The altercation turned fatal when Saheb attacked his wife, leading to her death. He then fled the scene and committed suicide early Thursday morning.
