Investigators are intensifying their search for two additional vehicles procured by the suspected suicide bomber and his key associate in the deadly Red Fort car explosion, beyond the Hyundai i20 used in the attack. According to sources, these cars were sourced from Delhi and are believed to play a central role in the broader terror conspiracy behind the November 10 blast that claimed at least 13 lives and injured over 20 near Gate 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station. The high-intensity detonation, which shattered windows and ignited nearby vehicles, has prompted a nationwide security overhaul.
The prime suspect, Dr. Umar Mohammad from Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir, has been identified as the bomber with deep ties to the Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). Umar, a doctor who reportedly panicked and triggered the ammonium nitrate-laden device after arrests of module members, acted alongside Aamir Rashid Mir, a Kashmir power department employee, and his family. The probe, now under the Jammu and Kashmir State Investigation Agency (SIA) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), is dissecting the JeM network's operations in India.
Authorities are delving into databanks of all detained suspects, scrutinizing Aadhaar cards, driving licenses, call records, WhatsApp and Telegram chats, and travel patterns to map the conspiracy. Aamir is under intense questioning, along with his 30-year-old plumber brother Umar Rashid and associate Tariq Malik, who remain unarrested. The focus is on uncovering procurement routes for the cars and explosives, with CCTV footage tracing the i20's 11-hour route before the blast.

Dr. Shaheen Saeed, arrested with an assault rifle and ammunition in her vehicle, emerges as a pivotal figure in the JeM's women's wing, Jamaat ul-Mominaat, led by JeM founder Masood Azhar's sister in Pakistan. Based at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, 45 km from Delhi, Saeed allegedly oversaw the India branch. Meanwhile, Kashmiri doctor Muzammil Ganai alias Musaib, nabbed with 2,900 kg of bomb-making explosives, stays in custody for his communications with Saeed.
Three other university doctors detained have been cleared for release due to no terror links, but the SIA vows to unravel the full module. With the Red Fort closed for three days and alerts at airports and heritage sites, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has pledged no mercy for perpetrators, vowing justice amid international condolences from nations like the US, UK, and China.
