Jaipur witnessed a tragic incident on November 3, 2025, when a dumper truck driver went on a deadly rampage, killing 14 people and injuring 10 others. CCTV footage and eyewitness reports reveal that minutes before the carnage, the truck driver, Kalyan Meena, had an altercation with a car driver near a petrol pump in the busy Lohamandi area. The confrontation escalated when the car blocked the truck's way before speeding off, prompting Meena to overtake the vehicle by driving on the wrong side of the road.
According to police officials and eyewitnesses, Meena drove recklessly at a speed of about 100 kilometers per hour on the wrong side for nearly 700 meters, smashing into multiple vehicles along a densely populated market stretch. The driver continued his rampage, ramming into at least 17 vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, and tragically running over three pedestrians before stopping after colliding with a stationary truck.
Jaipur Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash confirmed that the truck driver has a prior case for rash and negligent driving registered in 2024. Blood samples have been collected to determine the extent of alcohol consumption, as Meena appeared intoxicated throughout the rampage. Locals subdued the driver, who is now under police custody and receiving treatment in a hospital ICU, though he sustained no major injuries.
