An Instagram influencer was admitted to a hospital in Jammu after allegedly attempting suicide following accusations of harassment, defamation, and online abuse involving her fiancé. The incident has triggered a public dispute between the two families, with both sides leveling serious allegations against each other while police investigations and legal proceedings continue.
According to family members, influencer Ronisha Satti posted two videos on her social media account before attempting suicide, alleging that her fiancé, Prashant Sharma, had harassed her and her family and spread false information against them online. Her mother, Reena Satti, claimed that Sharma created a fake social media profile through which objectionable and defamatory content targeting the family was circulated. She alleged that the repeated online attacks pushed her daughter into emotional distress.
Reena Satti said the family had struggled financially for years and accused Sharma of exploiting her daughter emotionally and financially. She alleged that Sharma had taken more than Rs 10 lakh from the influencer while promising marriage, but later backed out of the relationship. She also claimed the family repeatedly approached the police seeking action against the fake social media account but did not receive adequate assistance. According to her, authorities were unable to trace the source of the account despite several weeks passing since the complaint was filed.

Prashant Sharma’s lawyer, however, strongly denied the allegations and presented a different version of events. The lawyer claimed that Sharma and Ronisha entered into a relationship in September 2024 and became engaged in November the same year. According to the defence, Sharma spent significant amounts of money on luxury shopping, gold ornaments, and other expenses for the influencer, allegedly transferring nearly Rs 9.5 lakh through UPI and other transactions during the course of their relationship.
The lawyer further alleged that Sharma later discovered Ronisha had not legally divorced her previous husband despite allegedly assuring him that the process would be completed within six months. He claimed Sharma was the one insisting on marriage and that his family eventually objected after learning about the alleged concealment. According to the defense, Sharma subsequently filed a cheating complaint against the influencer and her family, while a counter-complaint filed by the family was later stayed by the High Court.
The case has now become the subject of parallel legal and police proceedings, with both sides accusing each other of financial misconduct, emotional harassment, and defamation. Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the status of the investigations or the condition of the influencer beyond confirming that she is undergoing treatment in the hospital. The incident has also reignited discussions around online harassment, relationship disputes, and the emotional impact of social media abuse, particularly among young content creators and influencers.
