In a major breakthrough, Punjab Police have arrested Zeeshan Akhtar, identified as the mastermind behind the grenade attack on BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia’s residence in Jalandhar, which occurred in the early hours of today. Sources within the police reveal that Akhtar, a close associate of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is also a wanted suspect in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui.

The arrest follows a swift investigation triggered by the blast, which damaged property but caused no injuries.  

Authorities allege that the attack was orchestrated with support from Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), aimed at disrupting religious harmony in Punjab. "This was a planned conspiracy hatched across the border," a senior police official stated, pointing to a deepening nexus between transnational crime networks and terror elements. Forensic teams and CCTV analysis led to Akhtar’s apprehension, with evidence suggesting his direct involvement.
