In a major breakthrough, security forces neutralized Suleman, the Lashkar-e-Taiba mastermind behind the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, during Operation Mahadev near Srinagar on Monday. Suleman, also known as Hashim Moosa and a former Pakistan Army operative, was gunned down alongside two other high-value foreign terrorists, Abu Hamza and Yasir, in an intense firefight in the Mulnar area of Harwan, Lidwas.
The Indian Army’s Chinar Corps announced the operation on X, stating, “Three terrorists have been neutralised in an intense firefight. Operation Continues.” The joint effort by the Army, CRPF, and Jammu and Kashmir Police was launched based on precise intelligence inputs. Reinforcements have been deployed, and a combing operation is underway to secure the area.
The operation’s success, coinciding with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh’s Operation Sindoor debate in Parliament, marks a significant victory in India’s fight against terrorism, targeting key figures responsible for the devastating Pahalgam attack.
