Punjab Police arrested a suspected cross-border arms smuggler in Amritsar, seizing five pistols and four magazines, officials revealed on Tuesday. The breakthrough is a significant step in dismantling a dangerous network linked to Pakistan-based operatives, aimed at disrupting peace in Punjab.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, sharing details on X, stated that the accused, Amit Singh from Guru Ki Wadali, Chheharta, was collaborating with his associate Gurpreet Singh, alias Ginny. The duo was allegedly in contact with Pakistan-based smugglers orchestrating the flow of illegal weapons into the state. This arrest has exposed a sinister plot to destabilize the region through arms trafficking.
