A 14-year-old boy allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl in a village under the Kokhraj police station area in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, on Monday, police reported. The incident occurred when the girl was grazing a goat, and the accused, from the same village, lured her to a forest area with a toffee before assaulting her, said Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar.
The survivor informed her family upon returning home, prompting her grandmother to file a complaint. An FIR was registered Monday night under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the POCSO Act. The accused, who is absconding, is the subject of an ongoing police manhunt. The girl was sent for medical examination, and her condition is stable, authorities confirmed.
