Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline flyadeal has entered the Indian aviation market with the launch of daily direct flights between Hyderabad and Riyadh, strengthening air connectivity between India and the Kingdom. The airline’s first flight landed at the GMR Hyderabad International Airport on Monday, marking its debut operations in India and opening a new travel option for business travellers, expatriates and tourists. The carrier, which is part of the Saudia Group, will operate seven weekly flights on the Hyderabad-Riyadh route using Airbus A320 aircraft.
The new service is expected to improve connectivity between the two cities while supporting growing passenger demand driven by expanding business ties, tourism opportunities and the large Indian community residing in Saudi Arabia. The launch comes at a time when airlines are increasing their presence between India and the Middle East due to rising international travel demand. Hyderabad has emerged as an important aviation hub in southern India, with increasing connectivity to global destinations across the Gulf region, Europe and Asia.
The addition of flyadeal’s services is expected to further expand options for passengers travelling between Telangana and Saudi Arabia. Welcoming the airline’s entry into the Indian market, Kadhir Kadhiravan, Chief Executive Officer of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd (GHIAL), said the new route would significantly enhance Hyderabad’s Middle East network. He described flyadeal’s arrival as an important milestone that reflects the airport’s growing role as a global aviation hub.

Kadhiravan said the direct service would benefit the Indian diaspora and business community by providing more convenient travel options between Hyderabad and Riyadh. He added that improved air connectivity could also create new opportunities for tourism, trade and economic cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia. The Hyderabad-Riyadh route is expected to cater to a wide range of travellers, including professionals, families, religious tourists and leisure passengers. Saudi Arabia has a significant Indian expatriate population, while Hyderabad has strong economic and cultural links with the Gulf region. Improved flight connectivity is likely to support easier movement of people and strengthen bilateral relations.
flyadeal’s expansion into India marks a strategic step for the airline as it seeks to grow its international footprint. The airline has been focusing on affordable air travel and expanding its network beyond Saudi Arabia to meet increasing demand from international passengers. With the introduction of daily direct flights, passengers from Hyderabad and nearby regions will now have an additional low-cost travel option to Riyadh. The new route is expected to contribute to stronger aviation links between India and Saudi Arabia while supporting broader cooperation in tourism, commerce and people-to-people exchanges.
