Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the nation's largest hospitality firm under the Tata Group, disclosed a malware incident affecting select IT systems in a regulatory filing on Thursday. The company stated it took immediate steps to contain the impact, secure its infrastructure, and notify relevant authorities, while emphasising that business operations continue uninterrupted. IHCL is closely monitoring the situation to mitigate any further risks.
In the filing, IHCL affirmed, "We have detected a malware incident... immediate action has been taken to contain the impact and secure the systems. The relevant authorities have been duly notified. The company continues to monitor the situation closely while operating business as usual."
Subsidiary Benares Hotels Limited echoed the disclosure in its own filing on Friday, confirming the IT security event. Incorporated in 1971 and an IHCL subsidiary since 2011, Benares operates premium properties, including Taj Ganges and Nadesar Palace in Varanasi and Ginger Hotel in Gondia, Maharashtra.
