Actor-entrepreneur Abhishek Bachchan has opened up about the personal motivations behind his investments in food delivery platform Swiggy and homegrown condiment brand Naagin Sauce, revealing that his business choices often stem from everyday experiences. Speaking during a session at the Global Business Summit 2026, Abhishek said his association with Naagin began organically after he sampled the product and became a regular user.
The actor eventually reached out to the founders when the company was preparing for its first funding round and joined as a strategic partner. He noted that the brand has benefited from unexpected visibility at home, joking that it helps when his father, Amitabh Bachchan, posts breakfast photos featuring the sauce.
Abhishek also explained the personal story behind his investments in Swiggy and quick-commerce platforms. He recalled running out of Naagin sauce one evening and using an app to have it delivered for dinner — an experience that sparked his interest in backing the sector. According to him, frequent personal use of such services often drives his investment thinking.

The actor added that his long-standing love for Thane’s famous Mamledar Misal played a role in his Swiggy investment. “I called up Swiggy one day and asked, ‘You deliver this to me every morning. Can I invest in you?’” he said, adding that since he spends heavily on such services, he prefers to invest in them and potentially earn returns.
Beyond food and delivery ventures, Abhishek has built a diverse investment portfolio. He owns the Pro Kabaddi League franchise Jaipur Pink Panthers and co-owns the Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC. He has also invested in premium beverage brand Vahdam Tea alongside cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.
On the film front, Abhishek was last seen in Kaalidhar Laapata. He will next appear in director Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film King, headlined by Shah Rukh Khan, which is slated for theatrical release on December 24, 2026.
