The Bihar government is planning to launch the Shikshak Samadhan Portal on September 5, 2026, coinciding with Teachers’ Day, to provide a structured mechanism for addressing teachers’ grievances. Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari announced the initiative as part of the state government’s broader efforts to reform the education department and improve its functioning. The portal is expected to be formally launched in Patna.

According to the Bihar Education Department, a target has been set to resolve teachers’ issues within 30 days of their submission. The initiative is intended to ensure that grievances related to teachers’ professional and administrative concerns are addressed within a defined timeframe. The government has also indicated that officials could be held accountable if issues are not resolved within the stipulated period.

Tiwari said the government believes teachers need a supportive working environment to perform their responsibilities effectively. Speaking at the Seemanchal Conclave in Purnia on Saturday, he said a teacher facing unresolved problems may find it difficult to concentrate fully on teaching. The proposed portal is therefore being presented as an effort to address such concerns and allow educators to focus more effectively on their responsibilities.

The Education Minister also announced that educators from every district will receive state honours on Teachers’ Day. He said preparations for the programme are underway and reiterated that the Shikshak Samadhan Portal is expected to be launched on the same occasion. The government has positioned the initiative as part of its stated focus on improving administrative systems within the education sector.

Tiwari also reviewed the functioning of the education system during a meeting held at the District Guest House in Purnia on August 29. Discussions covered the progress and quality of education in the district, along with various issues affecting schools. In a social media post shared by the Bihar Education Department, the minister outlined the government’s reform approach and its objective of improving the department’s overall performance.

The launch of the Shikshak Samadhan Portal is expected to give teachers a dedicated channel for raising concerns and tracking their resolution. The government’s 30-day target will place greater emphasis on timely administrative responses, while the proposed accountability measures are intended to ensure officials act on grievances. The initiative forms part of Bihar’s wider effort to strengthen the education system and improve the working environment for teachers across the state.
