Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Telugu fantasy action sequel Akhanda 2: Thaandavam will begin streaming on Netflix from January 9, 2026, less than a month after its theatrical release. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, the film hit cinemas worldwide on December 12, 2025, in both 2D and 3D formats. Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital rights, following the standard four-week theatrical-to-OTT window now common for major Telugu releases.
Balakrishna reprises his powerful dual role as the divine Aghori warrior Akhanda, facing off against a new supernatural villain played by Aadhi Pinisetty. The supporting cast features Samyuktha Menen, Kabir Duhan Singh, and child actor Harshaali Malhotra, who makes her debut in Telugu cinema.

Early audience reactions have been mixed but lean positive among fans of mass commercial entertainers, praising Balakrishna’s screen presence, S. Thaman’s background score, and the grand-scale action sequences, while some reviewers pointed to a familiar storyline. The film currently holds an IMDb rating of 5.8/10.
With its theatrical run still ongoing, the confirmed January 9, 2026, OTT premiere gives viewers who missed the big-screen experience a quick opportunity to watch the mythological action spectacle at home on Netflix.
