In a heartfelt revelation, actress Patralekhaa, expecting her first child with husband Rajkummar Rao, opened up about her pregnancy journey and the grueling experience of egg freezing during an appearance on Soha Ali Khan’s podcast All About Her. The couple, who announced their pregnancy in July 2025, conceived naturally, but Patralekhaa’s candid discussion highlighted the unexpected difficulties of egg freezing she underwent three years prior.

Reflecting on the process, Patralekhaa shared, “I had also frozen my eggs about three years back, and now that I am pregnant, I feel pregnancy was way easier than freezing the eggs. My doctor didn’t tell me how difficult it was going to be.” The Citylights actress described the physical toll, including weight gain, and the emotional “blues” that followed the procedure. Offering advice to young women, she emphasized that natural conception felt less taxing than the egg-freezing process, stating, “I would always recommend that young girls should just get pregnant. It’s just easier than going through that whole process.”

Patralekhaa also revealed a surprising twist in her pregnancy journey: an initial negative result on a pregnancy test kit delayed their realization. It was only after consulting a gynecologist that the couple confirmed the happy news. Following medical advice, they chose to keep the pregnancy private for the first three months.

The couple, who married in November 2021 after an 11-year courtship that began during a music video shoot for Yeh Aashiqui, shared their joy in July with an Instagram post captioned “Elated” and a note reading “Baby on the way.” Professionally, Patralekhaa was last seen in the period drama Phule alongside Pratik Gandhi, while Rajkummar Rao continues to be a prominent figure in Indian cinema. Patralekhaa’s openness about her journey offers a relatable perspective on the challenges and joys of impending motherhood.
