In a stunning revelation, Spider-Man star Tom Holland has declared the script for Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey as the best he’s ever read. Set to hit theaters on July 17, 2026, the movie boasts a powerhouse cast including Matt Damon, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Anne Hathaway, and Charlize Theron.
Holland, who plays Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, in this adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic poem, shared his excitement in an interview with Agence France-Presse. “The script is unreal—it’s the best I’ve ever read,” he gushed. He also praised Nolan’s directing style, noting, “He’s crystal clear on his vision, but there’s room to pitch ideas and shape characters.”
The Odyssey follows the legendary hero Odysseus as he battles mythical creatures and divine forces on his long journey home from the Trojan War. This isn’t the first time Homer’s tale has hit the big screen—previous adaptations include the 1954 film Ulysses starring Kirk Douglas and the Coen Brothers’ 2000 hit O Brother, Where Art Thou?.
