In the acting categories, Jessie Buckley won the Best Actress award for her performance in Hamnet. The Best Actor award went to Michael B. Jordan for his role in Sinners, beating strong competition from actors such as Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio. In supporting roles, Amy Madigan won Best Supporting Actress for the film Weapons, while Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in One Battle After Another.
The Best Director award was won by Paul Thomas Anderson for directing One Battle After Another. In the screenplay categories, Ryan Coogler won Best Original Screenplay for Sinners, while Paul Thomas Anderson also won Best Adapted Screenplay for One Battle After Another. These wins highlighted the strong storytelling and filmmaking that defined the night.

International cinema was also recognized at the awards. The Best International Feature Film award went to Sentimental Value from Norway. In the animation category, Kpop Demon Hunters won Best Animated Feature. Meanwhile, the documentary category saw Mr. Nobody Against Putin win Best Documentary Feature, highlighting powerful real-world storytelling.
Several technical awards were also presented during the ceremony. Frankenstein won awards for Production Design, Costume Design, and Makeup and Hairstyling, showcasing its strong visual craftsmanship. F1 won Best Sound, while Avatar: Fire and Ash won Best Visual Effects. Overall, the 2026 Oscars celebrated creativity, innovation, and powerful performances, making it a memorable night for filmmakers and movie fans around the world.
