Kareena Kapoor has opened up about how she and husband Saif Ali Khan exchange feedback on each other’s work, revealing that their differing approaches to films sometimes lead to disagreements. In a recent interview with Brut India, Kareena said her sister Karisma Kapoor and Saif are among the family members who offer her honest opinions. However, she noted that they remain careful while discussing work because actors can be sensitive about their films and performances.

Discussing her conversations with Saif, Kareena said the two have different approaches as actors. She recalled that when she dislikes a script Saif is considering, she may tell him directly, only for him to describe her as “too hardcore”. Kareena added that she sometimes encourages him to take up a project despite her own reservations, reflecting the difference in their individual creative instincts and choices.

Kareena explained that both she and Saif try not to interfere too much in each other’s professional decisions. Since they belong to the same profession, she said they naturally have opinions about scripts, performances and the way projects are approached. At the same time, they have to be careful about how those opinions are expressed, given the personal investment actors have in their work.

She also recalled a lighter exchange involving Saif and her upcoming film Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran. Kareena said Saif had been offering his opinion about the film’s poster, but she told him to stop and suggested that he message Meghna directly with his views. The anecdote highlighted the way professional opinions can enter their conversations at home.

Daayra marks Kareena’s first collaboration with Meghna Gulzar and also features Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is inspired by true events, with Meghna co-writing the screenplay with Yash Keswani and Sima Agarwal. Kareena and Prithviraj portray police officers in the project, which is backed by Junglee Pictures and Dr Jayantilal Gada’s Pen Studios.

The film is another example of Kareena taking on projects beyond conventional commercial cinema as she continues to explore varied roles in her 40s. Her comments about sharing professional feedback with Saif also offer a glimpse into how two actors from the same profession navigate creative differences while maintaining boundaries around each other’s work.
