Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised actor Priyanka Chopra for “making India proud” after the two met at the annual Harvard India Conference, where both appeared as headline speakers. Sharing photos from backstage at Harvard University, Tharoor wrote on X that it was remarkable to see Chopra’s global success. He noted that she had “made India proud by conquering a stage on which Indians rarely get to appear,” while also complimenting her poise and thoughtful presence during the event.
Chopra responded warmly by resharing the post and thanking Tharoor for attending her session. She wrote that it was good to reconnect and expressed admiration for his oratory skills, adding that she hoped their paths would cross again soon. The exchange quickly drew attention on social media, with many users praising the interaction between the two public figures.

The meeting came shortly after Tharoor suffered a minor hairline fracture earlier this month after stumbling on the Parliament staircase while reportedly distracted by his phone. Despite the injury, he has continued to attend parliamentary proceedings, at times using a wheelchair.
Meanwhile, Chopra is preparing for a busy slate of releases. She will next appear as pirate Ercell in the action thriller The Bluff, produced by AGBO in association with Amazon MGM Studios, which is scheduled for release on February 25.
The actor is also set to star in filmmaker S. S. Rajamouli’s upcoming project Varanasi, where she will share screen space with Mahesh Babu for the first time, further expanding her presence across global and Indian cinema.
