Farah Khan, the iconic director behind blockbusters like Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om, and Happy New Year, has finally addressed fans’ long-standing pleas for her return to filmmaking. In her latest YouTube vlog, shot during a fun visit to actor Nakuul Mehta’s Mumbai home, Farah revealed she’s seriously considering restarting her directorial journey by the end of 2026. She humorously credited an online petition titled “Wapas Aao Farah Khan” for motivating her, noting that her children heading off to college will free up her schedule.
The big catch? Farah made it clear she will only helm a film if it reunites her with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. “If I do (direct), I will do it with Shah Rukh! Otherwise, I will wait and do YouTube,” she declared playfully. This isn’t the first time the duo has teamed up— their collaborations have delivered massive hits, including the 2007 phenomenon Om Shanti Om, which launched Deepika Padukone’s career, and the 2014 ensemble entertainer Happy New Year featuring Shah Rukh, Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, and others.
Farah’s films are celebrated for their high-energy dance sequences, grand spectacles, and feel-good vibes, largely thanks to her background as a renowned choreographer. Her last directorial outing was Happy New Year over a decade ago, after which she shifted focus to judging reality shows, guest appearances, and now her popular, candid YouTube channel where she shares glimpses of her life, family, and industry insights.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan remains one of Bollywood’s biggest draws. After the success of Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki in recent years, he’s gearing up for his next venture, King, directed by Siddharth Anand, where he’ll share the screen with his daughter Suhana Khan for the first time. A potential Farah-Shah Rukh project would undoubtedly spark massive excitement among fans eager for their signature magic on the big screen once again.
For now, Farah seems content balancing family life with her thriving YouTube presence—unless SRK calls, that is.
