Aryan Khan was bestowed with the prestigious Best Debutant Director of the Year award at the NDTV Indian of the Year ceremony held in New Delhi on Friday, recognising his accomplished directorial debut with the Netflix series The Ba***ds of Bollywood, produced under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment.

During his acceptance speech, Aryan expressed profound gratitude towards the cast, crew, and Netflix for entrusting a newcomer with the project, while humorously dedicating the accolade to his mother, renowned interior designer Gauri Khan. He playfully remarked that the award celebrated aspects of his work that often contradicted her longstanding advice on discipline and decorum, suggesting it would earn him fewer reprimands at home and bring her immense joy.

An especially poignant highlight of the evening unfolded as Aryan's grandmother, Savita Chhibber, watched from the audience and conveyed her overwhelming pride and affection. She extended heartfelt blessings for his continued success, declaring her deep love and national recognition of his talent, prompting Aryan to respond with a broad smile and a solemn promise to dedicate his forthcoming award to her, followed by a warm embrace that resonated with the gathered attendees.

Aryan Khan, raised in Mumbai, completed his early education at Dhirubhai Ambani International School before earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film and television production from the University of Southern California in 2020. His initial forays into the industry included a childhood appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham... and voice performances in Hindi dubbed versions of major animated features, paving the way for his multifaceted role as creator, showrunner, writer, and director on the satirical series.
