Actor Shanaya Kapoor, who is currently promoting her upcoming film Tu Yaa Main, recently shared an awkward yet humorous fan moment that drew laughter from filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan. The incident came up during Farah Khan’s visit to Shanaya’s home, where she filmed an episode of her popular YouTube vlog amid the film’s promotional activities.
Recounting the episode, Shanaya revealed that she and her mother, Maheep Kapoor, had gone to a theatre to watch Marty Supreme when she noticed a large group of girls approaching them. Believing that the trailer of Tu Yaa Main had just been released, Shanaya assumed the group wanted photographs with her and was about to stand up to oblige.
However, the moment quickly turned embarrassing when the group bypassed her and instead approached Maheep Kapoor, telling her that they were “big fans” of her. Shanaya admitted she was caught off guard by the interaction, realising that the attention she expected was actually meant for her mother.

Reacting to the anecdote, Farah Khan said she could completely relate to the situation, joking that she often assumes people are coming up to her for photographs, only to discover that they are actually looking for Dilip, her cook. Dilip has gained widespread recognition after becoming a recurring presence in Farah Khan’s viral YouTube vlogs.
Meanwhile, Shanaya Kapoor is gearing up for the release of Tu Yaa Main, directed by Bejoy Nambiar and co-starring Adarsh Gourav. The recently released trailer presents the film as a contemporary love story that sharply pivots into survival-thriller territory, with a crocodile playing a central role in the escalating tension.
Produced by Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under the Colour Yellow banner, Tu Yaa Main is scheduled for a theatrical release during Valentine’s Week on February 13, 2026. The film will face box-office competition from Shahid Kapoor and Vishal Bhardwaj’s O’Romeo, setting up a clash between two contrasting takes on romance.
