Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara, a poignant musical romance, has solidified its status as a box office juggernaut, amassing Rs 266 crore net at the Indian box office by its 12th day, with an estimated Rs 9.50 crore collected on its second Tuesday, July 29. The film, produced by Yash Raj Films, is now just shy of hitting the Rs 100-crore mark in its second week alone, having already earned Rs 172.75 crore in its opening week, making it the second-highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2025, trailing only Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
Globally, Saiyaara has crossed the monumental Rs 400-crore gross mark, a feat described as “phenomenal” by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, who noted its unexpected dominance as a “game-changer” in the industry. The film’s worldwide gross stands at Rs 409.75 crore, including Rs 319.75 crore gross in India and Rs 90 crore (approximately $10.5 million USD) from overseas markets. The film recorded a 24.06% Hindi occupancy on Tuesday, with peak attendance during night shows at 31.24%.
Starring debutants Ahaan Panday as Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician, and Aneet Padda as Vaani Batra, a young writer battling early-onset Alzheimer’s, Saiyaara has resonated deeply with audiences for its heartfelt exploration of love, loss, and heartbreak.
The film has set a historic benchmark as the highest-grossing Bollywood movie led by newcomers, surpassing iconic romances like Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express (Rs 227 crore domestically) and Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh (Rs 368.32 crore worldwide). Its second-week performance, bolstered by minimal competition, positions it to potentially reach Rs 300 crore net domestically soon.
