Bollywood superstar Salman Khan broke his silence on the persistent death threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, adopting a philosophical stance during a rare media interaction late Wednesday night. “Jitni umar likhi hai, utni likhi hai (Whatever life is destined is destined),” the 59-year-old said, addressing the tightened security that has confined his once-freewheeling lifestyle. “I go from Galaxy to shoot to Galaxy, no detours,” he added, referring to his Bandra residence.
Khan’s comments come amid heightened precautions following years of threats linked to his 1998 blackbuck poaching case, which enraged the Bishnoi community. The gangster, jailed since 2018, first vowed to kill Khan during a court appearance in Jodhpur. Tensions spiked in April 2024 when two alleged Bishnoi gang members fired shots outside Khan’s home, leading to their arrest. Bulletproof glass now shields his balcony, and CCTV cameras monitor the street below. In June, Navi Mumbai Police uncovered a plot to target him at his Panvel farmhouse, further intensifying security measures.
The murder of close friend Baba Siddiqui in October 2024 added urgency to the situation, restricting Khan’s movements even more. “This cramps my style,” he admitted, contrasting his earlier days of cycling freely around Mumbai. Yet, he remained stoic: “Bhagwan, Allah sab unpar hai (It’s up to God). I cannot do anything about it. Khallas.”
Speaking ahead of his film Sikander’s release this Sunday, Khan praised the media’s rapport with his security team but hinted at frustration with their constant presence. “I don’t wish them to be sweet with those who aren’t,” he quipped, blending defiance with resignation.
