The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has delayed its planned review meeting following India's disappointing performances in recent limited-overs series against Ireland and England. The meeting, which was expected to assess the team's struggles and discuss possible corrective measures, has not yet taken place, with reports suggesting that BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia's health issues led to the postponement.
The BCCI had planned the review after India suffered three consecutive defeats in the T20I series against Ireland and England, followed by a loss in the ODI series against England. Saikia had earlier clarified that the discussion would focus only on the team's performance and identifying areas where improvements were required. He had ruled out discussions on unrelated matters.
According to a report by Dainik Jagran, citing sources, the review meeting will be held at a later date, with head coach Gautam Gambhir expected to join the discussion virtually. The delay comes as the Indian team has already reached Sri Lanka for a two-Test series scheduled to begin on August 15.

India's recent struggles in T20 cricket have raised concerns within the cricketing setup. During the five-match T20I series against England, India fell behind after a series of poor performances, including a heavy defeat in the third match where the team was dismissed for 76 runs while chasing a target of 202. England eventually secured an unassailable lead in the series before winning the contest.
The disappointing England campaign followed another setback against Ireland, where India suffered a clean sweep in the T20I series. The back-to-back defeats marked a difficult phase for the team after Shreyas Iyer took over as T20I captain from Suryakumar Yadav, who had previously led India to the 2026 T20 World Cup title. Saikia had earlier described India's poor run as a "purely bad phase" and said the board was closely monitoring the team's performance. He added that such setbacks can occur in international cricket and that the focus remained on evaluating the team's progress and addressing shortcomings.
