Maruti Suzuki’s premium MPV, the Invicto, has achieved a prestigious 5-star safety rating from the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), reinforcing the company’s commitment to vehicle safety. Announced on September 25, 2025, the Invicto excelled in both adult and child occupant protection tests, scoring 30.43 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 points for child occupant protection (COP). This milestone underscores Maruti Suzuki’s focus on integrating world-class safety standards into its vehicle lineup.
In the adult occupant protection category, the Invicto earned 14.43 out of 16 points in the frontal offset deformable barrier test and a perfect 16 points in the side movable deformable barrier test. For child occupant protection, the vehicle secured a flawless 24-point dynamic score, 12 points for child restraint system (CRS) installation, and 9 out of 13 points for vehicle assessment.
The tested Invicto variant is equipped with a robust suite of safety features, including six standard airbags (front, side, and curtain), Suzuki Connect with eCall functionality, front and rear disc brakes, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) with Auto Hold, ABS with EBD, ESP with Hill Hold Assist, 3-point ELR seat belts, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, and a 360-degree view camera with dynamic guidelines.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, hailed the achievement, stating, “Safety has always been at the heart of Maruti Suzuki’s product philosophy. We are honored to receive the prestigious 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP assessment for our premium Strong Hybrid UV, INVICTO.” He highlighted that 15 Maruti Suzuki models across 157 variants, including entry-level vehicles like the Alto K10 and Celerio, hatchbacks like the Swift and Baleno, and SUVs like the Brezza and Grand Vitara, offer six airbags as standard. Through initiatives like the NEXA Safety Shield and ARENA Safety Shield, the company has standardized advanced safety features, blending them with comfort and innovation.
