Aprilia has introduced the SXR-GT scooter range in India, bringing a fresh take on the brand’s maxi-scooter design. The new lineup is offered with two engine options, with Aprilia positioning the models around urban touring. The company has revealed the specifications and equipment, while prices have not yet been announced.
The SXR-GT retains styling elements associated with the earlier SXR 160, including Aprilia’s distinctive Tripod LED headlamp arrangement. The bodywork has been updated with new graphics and six colour choices spread across the two versions. The 125cc model is available in Matte Black, Glossy Azzurro and Glossy White, while the larger version gets Metallic Blue, Matte Black and Matte Green.
Under the bodywork, the SXR-GT 125 uses a 125cc hp-e engine producing 10.46 hp at 7,400 rpm and 10.4 Nm of torque at 6,200 rpm. The SXR-GT 175, meanwhile, gets a 175cc engine generating 13 hp at 7,200 rpm and 14.14 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Both models are compatible with E20 fuel and use 14-inch wheels.

Braking hardware includes a 220 mm front disc with single-channel ABS, paired with a rear drum brake. The mechanical package is complemented by a 5-inch TFT LCD instrument display across the SXR-GT range. This gives the new scooters a combination of updated engine options and digital equipment while retaining the maxi-scooter proportions seen on the earlier SXR family.
Aprilia has reserved additional connected features for the SXR-GT 175. The larger scooter gets Bluetooth connectivity along with turn-by-turn navigation, adding functions aimed at riders who use the scooter for longer journeys. These features are not listed for the SXR-GT 125 in the report.
With the SXR-GT, Aprilia has expanded its scooter range with two engine choices and refreshed styling based on the SXR design language. The company has disclosed the technical specifications, colour options and feature list for the new models, but the pricing and availability details were yet to be announced at the time of the report.
