Google’s Pixel 11 Pro and Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro represent two different approaches to the premium smartphone market, with both offering high-end displays, powerful processors and advanced camera systems. The Pixel 11 Pro, launched as Google’s flagship for 2026-27, is powered by the Tensor G6 and places a strong emphasis on on-device artificial intelligence and Gemini-powered features. The iPhone 17 Pro, meanwhile, uses Apple’s A19 Pro chip and continues to focus on performance, graphics, photography and professional-grade video capabilities. In India, the Pixel 11 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,999, while the iPhone 17 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 for the 256GB model.
In terms of design and display, the two smartphones follow distinctly different approaches. The Pixel 11 Pro retains Google’s horizontal camera bar and measures 152.7 x 71.9 x 8.4mm, weighing 204 grams. It is available in Canyon, Olive, Fog and Obsidian colours and features IP68 protection with a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 back. The iPhone 17 Pro measures 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm and weighs 206 grams, with a large rear camera module and flat-edge frame. It comes in Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue and also carries IP68 protection. Both phones feature 6.3-inch LTPO OLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, although the Pixel offers a higher 1280 x 2856 resolution and a peak brightness of 3,600 nits compared with the iPhone’s 3,000 nits.
Performance and artificial intelligence are major areas of differentiation. The Pixel 11 Pro uses Google’s Tensor G6 and starts with 12GB RAM on the 256GB model, while the 512GB version gets 16GB RAM. Google has placed considerable emphasis on AI-powered features intended to automate tasks and make everyday interactions more contextual. The iPhone 17 Pro uses Apple’s A19 Pro chip, built on a 3nm process, with 12GB RAM across its 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants. While Apple also offers AI features, the iPhone places greater emphasis on raw processing and graphics performance. The camera systems are similarly competitive: the Pixel has a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide and 48MP 5x telephoto, while the iPhone uses three 48MP cameras, including a periscope telephoto lens.

The choice between the two ultimately depends on what users value most. The Pixel 11 Pro has a 4,850mAh battery, supports up to 30W wired charging and Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W, while Google claims more than 30 hours of usage. The iPhone 17 Pro supports 50 per cent charging in around 20 minutes with a compatible charger, along with up to 25W MagSafe and Qi2 charging and reverse wired charging. For photography, Google’s computational approach and 5x telephoto camera may appeal to still-image users, while Apple has a clear advantage in professional video with features including 4K recording at up to 120fps, ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2 and Dolby Vision HDR. With its lower starting price, strong AI features and bright display, the Pixel 11 Pro offers value for Android users, while the more expensive iPhone 17 Pro remains attractive to buyers seeking high-end performance, advanced video tools and integration with Apple’s wider ecosystem.
