India clinched the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2026 title with a dominant 100-run victory over England in the final, sealing a record-extending sixth championship at the Harare Sports Club. The win also marked the largest margin of victory by runs in an Under-19 World Cup final, underlining India’s supremacy in youth cricket.
The final was defined by a breathtaking performance from 14-year-old batting prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who smashed a sensational 175 off just 80 balls. His knock, studded with aggressive strokeplay and sustained power-hitting, powered India to a massive total of 411 for 9 in their allotted 50 overs, the highest team score in an Under-19 World Cup final.
Suryavanshi’s innings laid the foundation for India’s dominance, allowing the middle order to bat freely and maintain relentless pressure on the English bowlers. Leading the side, captain Ayush Mhatre oversaw a fearless batting approach that reflected India’s intent to set an imposing target on the biggest stage of the tournament.

Chasing 412, England showed resistance through Caleb Falconer, who produced a valiant 115 off 67 deliveries. His counterattacking century briefly kept England in the contest, but the required run rate proved too steep as wickets fell regularly at the other end against India’s disciplined bowling attack.
England were eventually bowled out for 311 in 40.2 overs, well short of the target. India’s bowlers maintained consistent pressure, ensuring that partnerships never developed long enough to threaten the outcome of the match.
India’s triumph capped a flawless campaign, with the team winning every match en route to the title. The comprehensive victory not only reinforced India’s status as the most successful nation in Under-19 World Cup history but also highlighted the emergence of Vaibhav Suryavanshi as one of the brightest young talents in world cricket.
