Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the state’s NDA Government over police action against candidates protesting for the release of vacancies under the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4), alleging that job aspirants were being unfairly targeted for raising legitimate demands.
In a social media post, Yadav criticised the government led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, questioning the use of force against protesting youth. He said the candidates were only seeking implementation of pre-election promises, including the pledge to provide 10 million jobs and the conduct of the long-awaited TRE-4 recruitment process. He argued that demanding employment opportunities should not be treated as a criminal act.
The RJD leader further alleged that repeated instances of police lathi-charge on students and aspirants reflected an insensitive approach by the administration. He urged the government to redirect police resources toward controlling crime and corruption in the state instead of acting against unemployed youth who were seeking recruitment transparency and timely notifications.

Yadav also claimed that the NDA government had shown no genuine intent to initiate the TRE-4 process, pointing out that no official notification had been issued despite repeated assurances. He contrasted the current situation with the earlier Mahagathbandhan government, under which he said more than 200,000 teachers were recruited through TRE-1 and TRE-2 without reports of paper leaks, while additional recruitment for 130,000 posts had also been initiated.
He further accused the ruling alliance of shifting focus away from governance, alleging that ministers were prioritising publicity over addressing unemployment concerns. According to him, repeated leadership changes and cabinet reshuffles in the state had failed to bring clarity or progress on the recruitment process, deepening frustration among aspirants.
The remarks come amid ongoing protests in Patna by teacher candidates demanding the immediate release of the TRE-4 notification, with tensions rising over delays in the recruitment cycle and allegations of administrative inaction.
