Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday defended his government's handling of the alleged embezzlement of donations meant for the Ram Temple, saying swift action was taken immediately after a Special Investigation Team (SIT) submitted its findings. Addressing a public gathering in Deoria, the chief minister accused Opposition parties of attempting to politicise the issue and urged them not to malign Ayodhya or the faith of millions of devotees. He reiterated that those found responsible had already been arrested and assured that the investigation would proceed strictly on the basis of evidence.
Responding to criticism over the alleged financial irregularities, Adityanath said the government had acted without delay once the SIT completed its probe. He maintained that the administration remained committed to protecting public trust and ensuring complete transparency in the matter. Stressing that no individual would be spared if found guilty, he said the government would continue to distinguish facts from allegations as the investigation progresses.
Launching a sharp attack on the Opposition, the chief minister warned political rivals against using the controversy to target Ayodhya or devotees of Lord Ram. "Do not cast an evil eye on Ayodhya. Do not test Ram's devotees. If there is evidence, present it before the SIT," he said. Adityanath asserted that criticism should be backed by credible proof rather than political rhetoric, adding that the investigation was being conducted impartially.

Speaking at the public meeting, Adityanath also sought to reassure devotees that the state government would not allow anyone to exploit religious sentiments or misuse public donations. "The SIT report came and action started immediately. I assure you that, as I had said, we will separate truth from falsehood," he said. His remarks underscored the government's position that prompt legal action had been initiated against those allegedly involved in the case.
The alleged embezzlement of donations linked to the Ram Temple has triggered a political confrontation, with Opposition parties questioning the handling of the matter and demanding accountability. The state government, however, has maintained that the investigation is being carried out in accordance with the law and that all necessary action has been taken based on the SIT's findings. Authorities have reiterated that the probe remains ongoing and that any additional evidence will be examined before further legal action is initiated.
