On the final day of her three-day visit to Uttar Pradesh, President Droupadi Murmu visited the Danghati Temple in Goverdhan, Mathura district, on Saturday and offered prayers. During the visit, she also undertook the traditional Govardhan Parikrama, a circumambulation of the sacred hill, before returning to Delhi.
President Murmu’s tour of the state began on Thursday with a visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, followed by prayers at the ISKCON temple and Prem Mandir in Vrindavan, reflecting her engagement with the region’s prominent spiritual sites. On Friday, the President inaugurated the new Oncology Block at the Ramakrishna Mission Sevashram, aimed at enhancing cancer care facilities in the region. The development is part of broader efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.

During her visit, President Murmu emphasized the cultural and religious significance of the sites she visited, highlighting their importance in promoting spiritual heritage and community engagement. The Govardhan Parikrama undertaken by the President is a long-standing tradition observed by devotees, symbolizing devotion and reverence for the sacred Govardhan hill, which holds religious significance in the region.
President Murmu’s visit combined religious observances with institutional inaugurations, reflecting her focus on both cultural heritage and social development initiatives in Uttar Pradesh.
