Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, praising his contributions to key governance sectors, particularly urban infrastructure and energy development. The Prime Minister highlighted Khattar’s role in advancing initiatives that he said are important for India’s long-term growth trajectory.
In a post on social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi described Khattar as being “at the forefront” of multiple initiatives related to urban infrastructure and the power sector. He wished him good health and a long life, noting that these sectors play a crucial role in strengthening India’s development framework and economic progress.
Following the Prime Minister’s message, several senior leaders from the government also extended their wishes. Union Home Minister Amit Shah praised Khattar’s work in housing, urban development, and energy, stating that his efforts under the leadership of the Prime Minister have been commendable. He also wished him good health and longevity.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also conveyed his greetings, acknowledging Khattar’s dedication to improving urban facilities and strengthening the country’s energy sector. He described Khattar’s work as committed and consistent, and extended wishes for his continued good health. Other ministers, including Nitin Gadkari and Kiren Rijiju, also joined in extending birthday greetings.
Manohar Lal Khattar, who currently serves as Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs, has had a long political journey spanning several decades. Born in 1954 in Nindana village of Rohtak district in Haryana, he began his public life with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in 1977 and later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1994. He rose through the party ranks and became the first BJP Chief Minister of Haryana in 2014 after winning the Karnal Assembly seat.
Over the years, Khattar has been closely associated with governance and organisational responsibilities, particularly in urban development and infrastructure planning. His political career has been marked by his transition from organisational work to executive governance, and he continues to play a significant role in shaping policy in urban and energy-related sectors at the national level.
