The Delhi Legislative Assembly will hold its monsoon session in early August, embracing a fully digital format via the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), officials said. A three-day MLA training program, starting Monday at the new NeVA Training Centre in the Vidhan Sabha Complex, will ensure a smooth transition to paperless proceedings, guided by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs experts until July 23.

Speaker Vijender Gupta called digital transformation “essential for people-centric legislation.” A key focus is a bill to regulate private school fees, based on an April 29 ordinance, proposing Rs 1-10 lakh fines for arbitrary hikes, mandatory refunds within 20 days, and stricter penalties for repeat violations, including loss of fee-setting rights.

The Aam Aadmi Party plans to challenge the BJP-led government on civic issues like waterlogging, Yamuna cleaning, and water supply. Gupta emphasized that the NeVA initiative reflects the Assembly’s commitment to transparent, modern governance, setting a benchmark for accountable legislative practices in the capital.
