Parliament is set to reconvene on Tuesday for the second day of the Monsoon Session, with another confrontation expected between the government and the Opposition over several contentious issues. Opposition parties are expected to seek discussions on the police action during the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, examination-related concerns and allegations regarding the misappropriation of donations linked to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust.

Proceedings in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha are scheduled to begin with Question Hour, followed by the laying of official papers by various ministries. In the Lok Sabha, the Secretary-General is also expected to table nine Bills that were passed during the previous session of Parliament and subsequently received the President's assent.

The government has listed several important pieces of legislation for consideration during the Monsoon Session. Among them is the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026, which is scheduled to be taken up for discussion and passage in the Lok Sabha. Other proposed legislations include the Registration of Births and Deaths Amendment Bill, the Income-Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and a Bill to amend the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Act, 2006.

The Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, which was introduced earlier, is also expected to be considered during the session. In addition to legislative business, ministers will table a range of statutory notifications, annual reports, audited accounts and review documents, including notifications related to quality control orders, amendments to fertiliser regulations, Delhi Police recruitment rules and the Citizenship (Amendment) Rules, 2026.

Political tensions are expected to remain high after disruptions marked the opening day of the Monsoon Session. Opposition parties are likely to continue pressing the government for detailed discussions on recent developments, while the ruling alliance is expected to focus on advancing its legislative agenda and completing scheduled parliamentary business.

With several politically sensitive issues and multiple key Bills on the agenda, the second day of the Monsoon Session is expected to witness intense debates and possible disruptions. Both Houses will seek to balance legislative work with discussions on matters of national importance as the session progresses.
